Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy interventions include helping differently abled children to gain functional skills which aid their inclusion in school and social situations.

Occupational therapist works on,

  1. Activities of daily living
  2. Education
  3. Work
  4. Play
  5. Leisure
  6. Special participation
  7. Rest and sleep

DDU’s dual-purpose area is used for occupational therapy, where OT's work on fine motor skills, activities of daily living, writing skills & hand grip (with specialized equipment by applying various strategies according to the needs of child etc.) A portion has been segregated and is equipped to work on stimulation and integration of senses. A safe and visually stimulating environment encourages children to explore the space and our therapists ensure maximum engagement of all senses.

DDU therapists evaluate the needs of each child & provide required support to enhance functional independence in daily life while preventing or minimizing limitations.
