Skill Development Program

Mahlaqa Saeed is an Economics and Business Studies Teacher at the O Levels Section of Dawood Public School. This summer she is conducting a six week Skill Development Program titled “Event Management and Media Relations” for the graduating batch of 2020 at DPS.

The course aims to introduce learners to Corporate Event Design and Architecture; which includes Proposal Drafting, Finance and Budgeting, as well as External Communication of an Event. Learners will also be exposed to the dynamics of Corporate Media Relations, Designing Public Relations Strategies & Development of Communication Material.

The course is based on skills adopted during Mahlaqa’s work experience as a Corporate Communications Consultant prior to her teaching position at DPS. Generally taught as a Marketing majors elective at MBA level, it has been designed to adapt to the knowledge and understanding of young students. The twice weekly classes are primarily based on case study analysis, practical application of key concepts and encourages learners to think beyond the classroom.
