A Special Olympics Pakistan basketball training camp for Unified Team with the special athletes was organized at Lahore from 21st December 2018 till 6th January 2019. A series of intensive trainings were scheduled for all players to keep them in shape and form team bonds before the final matches to be held in Abu Dhabi in March 2019.
Supervised by Unified Team coaches and DPS faculty representative, passionate Dawoodians attended this camp along with their special friends at the Punjab Sports Complex. Amidst collaborative team work and spirited partnerships, the special athletes were befriended by our compassionate girls and pledges were made to remain connected; looking forward to the upcoming event in UAE.
The excited group of girls enjoyed off court moment too, when they participated in the celebration of Christmas and the New Year’s Eve. The players and coaches also experienced a patriotic surge when visiting the historic Wagah border where they were mesmerized by the thrilling experience of the flag ceremony and the magnificent military parade. The energetic athletes returned home for the start of Final Term with a lot of motivation and confidence.
