Students of Grade IX showcased their talent on Thursday April 18, on the last day of the Annual DPS School Play Week and took the audience on a nostalgic roller coaster ride. The cast brilliantly displayed a class of students who decide to play an innocent prank on their new teacher and in the course of the class, discover their own selves and learn to respect and love their teacher. Under the superb directions of faculty members Ms Hanna Lazouskaya, Mr Hasnain Murad and Ms Anam, making waves on stage this year were Inciya Mustafa IX-A, Saman Waseem, Safiya Hayat, Afeera Umair, Hamna Siddiqi IX-B, Fatima Farooq, Sadia Mushtaq IX-C, Sakina Zehra, Alishba Fatima IX-D, Sahal Shahid, Hamna Batool IX-E and Aliza Faisal Rathod IX F.
The mood for the play ‘Paper Bags’ was set by the talented choir including Aliza Bakhtiari, Marium Abid and Shifa Abdul
Samad from VIII-C, Ayra Hanif from VIII-D, Syeda Wajiha Hasan and Soha Faiz from VIII-F, who sang a cover version of ‘Another Brick in the Wall’ by Pink Floyd. The somewhat edgy opening roused the curiosity of the audience building the suspense of the story. The climax was beautifully set as Aliza Bhakhtiari sang ‘I Don’t Know My Name’ by Grace Vander Waal, for Afeera Umair’s character ‘Unsure Girl’ that left the audience with emotional tears and goosebumps.
