Independence Day Celebration at Dawood Public School:

  Dawood Public School celebrated the 68th Independence Day of Pakistan on Friday, the15th of August 2014, with national zeal and fervor. The faculty and students from the four sections gathered in the school ground to celebrate and chant in unison the rhythm of unity, anthem of love and purity for their beloved homeland. The dress code was green and white, most of the students dressed as per the theme and some looked prominent with the added trimmings.
The celebration began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran. Soon after the recitation the A-Level Head Girl, Maryam Raza hoisted the flag. As the flag was being hoisted the school choir sang the national anthem and the audience joined and stood up in reverence demonstrating loyalty, devotion and respect for their country.
The proceedings of the day included the opening speech by the Principal of the O’Level section and a cultural program to mark the importance of the Independence Day.
 The Principal addressed the students and laid stress on the importance of discipline and character building , that may ultimately make Pakistan a strong and prosperous country as per  the vision of the Quaid-e-Azam  Muhammmad Ali Jinnah.
Soon after the speech the cultural program started with a thought provoking play by the A level students presented on the theme, reflecting the current situation in Pakistan and the role of Pakistanis in dealing with it.
One student from each section delivered a speech commemorating the Independence Day
The Pre-Nursery kids added ambience to the celebration by singing a patriotic song “Dil,  Dil Pakistan……”, while students from  the Primary section performed a tableau,  representing the provinces of Pakistan  on the famous  national song “Ye Tera Pakistan Hay Ye Mera Pakistan Hay…”
Students from the Secondary section paid a rich tribute to  the country by singing the patriotic song” Ye Watan Hamara Hey…..” and portraying famous personalities and their contribution in the fields of social work, education, art, technology and media etc. A play by the students of class VI on the importance of education received thunderous applause.
In the end the participants prayed for the prosperity, integrity and solidarity of Pakistan.
