Inter School Sports Tournament the Closing Ceremony:

Dawood Public School’s four day “Inter School Sports Tournament“ kicked off on 27th September 2014 . 27 leading schools of Karachi participated with zeal and enthusiasm in the event. The Opening Ceremony was a remarkable event. It commenced with the teams walk past led by the Head Girls of A and O levels carrying the school flag and the national flag. The DPS students of preprimary, primary and O levels put up spectacular displays, the primary section’s display was a colorful overview of students at their best.  The ceremony was wrapped up by the release of the LED balloons and a stunning show of fire works. The tournament comprised of Throw ball and Table tennis matches played on knock out basis and supervised by professional referees. The first matches of the tournament commenced on 30th September 2014. The A and O levels Throw ball teams played exciting matches there was neck to neck competition between the teams each tried to over rule the other and secure glory for their school. The A level teams of The Lyceum School and Nixor College moved on to the final and  The Lyceum School won the match and is the proud winner of the A level schools, the first runner up is Nixor College and the second runner up is Aga Khan College. The final of the O level Throw ball matches was played between Convent of Jesus and Mary (WhiteTeam) and Haque Academy. Convent of Jesus and Mary (White Team)emerged victorious and is the winner of the O level schools, the first runner up is Haque Academy and the second runner up is Convent of Jesus and (Mary Green Team) The Table Tennis matches were as thrilling as the Throw ball matches. The position holders of the A level schools Table Tennis matches played on 30th  Sept  are 1st Lyceum, 2nd Nixor College and 3rd Aga Khan College while the winners O level stream  are 1st Head Start, 2nd Dawood Public School and 3rd Bay View High.   Amidst thunderous applause the O level Principal and In charge Secondary Section awarded medals, certificates and trophy to the winners with the motivating song “Stand up Stand up for the Champions” playing in the background. Later the A level Principal handed over the trophy to the winning team of A level schools and medals to the runners up.   The closing was as unique as the opening it celebrated the hard work and dedication of the players who played fair and made their best efforts to secure laurels for their school. The ceremony closed on a thank you note by the O and A levels Principals for making the tournament a success. The A level Principal said that sports make students academically disciplined and encouraged the teams to consider losing as an experience that would further their desire to win next time.
