DPS Kids Carnival:

Saturday 21st December 2013 was a special day for kids; it was carnival time for them at DPS. This carnival was exclusively organized for kids to provide them quality entertainment.  Kids below the age of 11 years were allowed entry.  Fun and togetherness was the theme of the carnival. The event offered a wonderful world of excitement for kids and their families.  The doors of the fun fair opened at 1:30 pm parents with toddlers and little boys and girls arrived at the gala.  The campus was dotted with stalls of every kind. The fun packed day kicked off with lots of activities to keep the little ones entertained, hours of fun included kid’s favourite eats and treats, drinks, ice-cream, games, shows, animals, entertainers, rides, face painting, crazy hats and much more. Children lined up for their favourite ice cream, munchkins, toffees and popcorn. Cotton candy was on the top of the list. The family favorite culinary treats were the spicy biryani, pizzas and sizzling hot coffee. Kid’s much loved entertainment was the puppet and magic shows, jumping castles, slides and obstacle game, they were thrilled and awe struck by the magic, they bounced their way up the castle, hurtled down the slides and snaked their way through the obstacle maze. Parents took their kids for a make over at the face painting and crazy hats stalls. The rides were a new and exciting experience for them. They went berserk at the sight of the horse carriage, merry go round and their favourite cartoon characters. The mini zoo was truly a unique and fascinating attraction, the little animal lovers had a wild time as they came face to face with monkeys, parrots, crocodile, cocktails, tortoise and pythons they wanted to pat and cuddle them. Amid the fun and entertainment parents lined up at the Blood Donation Camp and donated the life saving magic potion for the sick to the Fatimid Foundation. The carnival seemed to have no end to the surprises. The festive atmosphere and fun created magic and allure; the arena reverberated with merriment, laughter, happiness and vigour.  As day light faded and the sun began to set by 6:30 pm the fun lovers were seen heading home. The event was a huge success the little ones loved it so did the parents. It kept the kids engaged throughout and many parents complimented the entertainment. The Principal remarked that life in Karachi is taxing and busy, people hardly get time for themselves and their kids so carnivals are a  great way to tackle this and lighten up the stressful days. DPS now has another feather in its cap for organizing the carnival exclusively for kids.
