Night Festival:

DPS hosts events that instill in students values which enable them to develop into well rounded personalities. The most awaited event of the year is the DPS annual carnival. The objective of organizing the carnival is to make students realize the obligation they have towards humanity and also to hone their interactive skills. On this platform they learn to make transactions, deal with people and situations. As usual the event is always novel, this year it was a “Night Festival”. This event is a collective effort of the students, parents, faculty and the admin staff.  As every year the Festival was open for parents, outsiders and boys under 10 years of age. The doors of the carnival opened at 5:30 pm and with in no time it was inundated. The entire arena was illuminated with lights of all hues lending brilliance to the event.  The festival drew families, friends, students and little ones chaperoned by their parents. The main attractions of the carnival were mouth watering food delicacies, games and rides.   The food stalls were laden with great vegetarian and non vegetarian recipes, variations of grilled kababs, Bar B Q, fast food burgers, rolls and desserts, ice creams, gola ganda and much more.. The event would have been incomplete without the traditional biryani, haleem, halwa puri, samosas and chat. The visitors relished the culinary delights in the ambiance of a dinning area with  music playing in the background The thrilling rides included the mini train, the horse carriage and a surprise ride the “Desert Bike”. The gaming zone was a hot spot of the kids.  The “Monkey and Goat Show” attracted both young and old where they discovered that monkeys are smart creatures full of fun and pretty engaging and goats are meek gentle creatures. The elegant night festival was astounding and provided an exhilarating experience to the Karachites. The event was very well put together by 6:30 it was packed where visitors enjoyed every moment of it in the moonlit night. It was 10:00 pm and was time to wind up, guests were seen heading home reluctantly.
The event was provided media coverage by Capital TV and Abb Tak. The media personnel interviewed some students, parents and the Principal. Speaking on the occasion the Principal said “Academics and co curricular activities go hand in hand at DPS. This  festival is the most awaitedsss annual event and its proceeds are donated towards charity. In 2012 the amount collected was donated to Indus Hospital’ in 2013 it was donated to the victims of Thar drought in kind (clothes, food items, water, medicine and toys). This year we plan to donate it for an educational cause.”
