Homage to the Martyrs of APS:

Time flies off, it is a year since the terrible carnage at the APS Peshawar cut short the lives of our promising youth and left their families and the country immersed in sorrow.  DPS students pledged their solidarity with the bereaved families and the nation. On 17th Dec the morning assembly started with a brief tribute to the martyrs of APS Peshawar and a minute’s silence followed by prayers for the departed souls. Students of all sections of DPS expressed their heartfelt emotions through letters to the martyrs titled ‘Voice of Heart’ expressing their earnest feelings for the blossoms of APS whose fragrance will always linger in the mountains, plateaus, valleys, rivers and alleys of Pakistan. Fatima Shabbir of Secondary section  and Manal Rashid of the Primary section read excellent piece of poetry honoring the martyrs. Soft board depicting hope and sincere messages by the staff and students were displayed. The presentation of the song ‘Suraj Kare Salam’ by the music society was an expression of hope and a pledge to serve Pakistan at all costs. Paying their respects the Secondary students placed lighted diyas, Primary students placed bouquets and the little preschoolers placed flowers on the stage while the song ‘Bada Dushman’ played in the background expressing the perpetrators cowardice. The assembly wrapped up with the national anthem.
