First Aid Workshop:

First Aid knowledge is potentially lifesaving in an emergency situation considering its importance DPS annually registers its students of class X for a first Aid course.  On November, 12th , 2016, students of class X attended the Advanced First Aid Management Course at Aga Khan University and Hospital. The facilitator explained about first aid; role of a first aider in providing immediate lifesaving medical care before the arrival medical help arrives; and the necessary contents of a first aid box. Students were taught how to diagnose the problem and reach for help; the kind of immediate aid to be given to a person suffering from head and spinal injury; fractures and sprains; shifting of a conscious and unconscious person and making them lie in safe recovery position. They were also taught how to recognize the problem, Airway, Breathing, and Circulation (ABC). Different types of bandaging were explained to the participants. They also learnt how to apply a splint to the part with suspected fracture. Later the students practiced different techniques.  It was a very informative work shop and our students learnt a very important life skill. In the end, the participants were awarded certificates.
