Annual Sports Day 25th 26th and 27th March 2015:

The School’s Sports Day is one of the most awaited and cherished events of the year. This year the Sports Day of all three sections was held on 25th 26th and 27th March 2015 respectively in the school’s sports ground. Parents were invited to witness the event. To accommodate all students the event was held in two sessions: morning session commenced from 09:00 am while the evening session started at 04:30 pm. During both the sessions the arena was packed with guests on all the three days.  The venue was adorned with beautiful decorations, balloons, buntings and amazing collages of the students art work on the sports day theme. The Principal welcomed the guests and stressed on the significance of sports, she said that sports instill lessons that play an important role in the life of students; she reiterated that sports provide a platform for them to deal with competition and to gracefully with winning and losing.  Each day the event started with a spectacular walk past by the students, amidst thunderous applause from parents, students entered the arena in their crisp PE uniforms carrying balloons representing their Houses. As they released the balloons the sky was filled with a spectrum of beautiful colours. The celebration began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran followed by the oath taking ceremony in which the students pledged to follow the rules of the games and to demonstrate sportsman spirit. Later all present joined in the National Anthem. While parents cheered on, the mood grew more festive and joyous when the result of the International Kangaroo Linguistic Competition was announced. Our school won twenty two gold medals and two bronze. The surprise and thrill on the face of the winners and their parents was a sight to behold. The little energetic cheerleaders dressed as clowns moving around the arena kept the audience entertained.  The performance on the rhymes ‘Clap My hands’ and ‘I Exercise ‘by the preschoolers proved their sense of rhythm and coordination. The Primary section students performance on ‘You are the Best’ was a treat to watch. The secondary section students’ rendition of “Bol’ Faiz Ahmed Faiz’s famous compilation received thunderous applause. The colourful PE displays, aerobics and unique races captivated the minds of the audience. Besides track events and displays the pre primary students showcased their mastery over simple yoga exercises and received booming ovation. The ‘Tug of War’ between the admin staff and teachers was a sight to watch.  Amid excitement and thrill the in charges and teachers tried to over power the admin staff and the teachers won the event. The fathers’, mothers’, siblings’, teachers’ and menial staff races delighted the audience.  The joyous event wrapped up on a thank you note and prize distribution by the Principal and respective section heads. Parents enjoyed the sports gala and commended the efforts of the management for organizing a well planned event.
