AS Orientation Session:

An orientation session was organized for the incoming AS Level girls on Friday, August 26, 2016. The purpose of the session was to outline and share information, rules and regulations related to the school.
The programme commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Saroosh Abidi, from A2. Followed by, the host of the ceremony, Mahnoor Khan, welcoming the new students and parents. She then invited the Principal A- Level, Mrs. Huma Thaver, to address the audience. Mrs. Thaver proudly shared the outstanding CIE results of May/ June, 2016 and congratulated students, parents and teachers on this achievement. She thanked them for enabling the school to uphold and maintain the zero tuition culture in the A Level. She then introduced the teaching faculty and outlined the important co and extra curricular activities taking place in the A Level such as academic and career counseling, university placement, strong extra curriculum infra structures, student mentorship programme, one to one teacher student support, field learning opportunities, leadership and skill building opportunities through external workshops and guest speaker sessions. Ms. Thaver then highlighted some school rules along with school timings, biometric and subject attendance, sports camp, PTMs, assessments and assignments, mid-term examination, school parent communication through email, SMS, website like the  Facebook  page, gate pass, uniform, mobile phone usage to limited areas, assembly days, activity period, prior appointments, fee schedule. The audience was also briefed about the clubs and societies and mega events like Dawood A Level Model United Nations (DALMUN) Simulation.
She also talked about DPS alumnis who are now studying in various well reputed universities in and outside Pakistan such as LUMS, IBA, AKU, NED, DMC, SMC, NUST, Indus School Valley, University of Alberta, Malaysian University etc.
Various alumni such as Umme Hani, now in SMC, Zara Ramzan, now in IBA and Maria Shahid also shared their profile and exhilarating their journey at DPS A Level as they too welcomed the new comers.
The programme concluded on a note of patriotism with National Anthem being sung enthusiastically by all the attendees in unison. Later, the students and parents interacted with the A Level faculty over tea.
