23rd March, Pakistan Day Activities:

DPS celebrated Pakistan Day on 23rd March 2016.  Students of class I paid tribute to the illustrious National Heroes of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal, who conceived the idea of a separate homeland, Chaudhry Rehmat Ali who suggested the name Pakistan, Hafeez Jhalandari who wrote the Anthem of our country, not forgetting Quaid e Azam and Faitma Jinnah for their untiring efforts to acquire and bestow us this beautiful country.  It was followed by a patriotic song ‘Sohni Dharti’ by Rafia Adnan of class VI and an interactive quiz by Hania Ashraf of Class V and Baahjat Moeezuddin of Grade IV.   Zoha Ghazi of class V delivered a speech titled ‘Shukriya Pakistan’. Last but not the least the essay competition themed “What does it mean to be a Pakistani” was held for Primary and Secondary classes.

 In the Pre Primary section teachers discussed in a very simple manner the significance of Pakistan Day and Minar-e-Pakistan. Children later sang national songs with patriotic fervor and enjoyed the celebration.
