Alumni Profiles


We are extremely proud of all the Dawoodians who have achieved what they strived for and have been able to make a difference in society in their own way. Therefore Dawood Public School is starting an Online Alumni Mentoring Program whereby our alumnus would answer queries through emails of Dawoodians. Our alumnus are looking forward to helping Dawoodians in any way they can whether it be a question of what subjects to choose or which university to apply to,  you can always take their opinion and make use of their life experiences.
Here are some of our alumnus who have come forward to help other Dawoodians accomplish their dreams:

Sabiha graduated DPS in 1993 followed by her A Levels from Muscat Private School in 1995. She took Economics, Accounts and Business Studies as her main subjects in both O and A levels.  She did her BS in Information Systems from University of Maryland Baltimore County.  During college she worked at the computer lab help desk and taught various beginner level classes to other students. After graduation she worked as a web developer/ system administrator for a few years followed by an MBA in business management from Dominican University of Chicago.
Currently she is a home maker but she aspires to be a web designer again as soon as she feels she has the time to commit to this responsibility.  She is a voracious reader and loves to write in her free time.
As an alumnus, she would be happy to guide students on entering colleges within the United States, researching universities, and choosing a field of study.

Zoya did her schooling from class 1 to O levels from Dawood Public School. She graduated Dawood Public School in 2005 with Business Studies, Accounts and Economics as her main subjects. Zoya then did her A levels from Foundation Public School in 2007. She went on to become part of Szabist from where she did her Bachelors in marketing. Currently she is doing her Masters from IBA. She has been a part of Liberty Books marketing team as their brand manager and is currently working as manager client service in Asiatic Public Relations. Zoya’s main interest lies in the field of Digital Marketing which she hopes to explore further in the future.  Apart from professional achievements, Zoya is also a part of TCF Rahbar – a program which is designed to guide TCF students and mentor them for their future choices.

Misbah Jawed completed her entire schooling from nursery to O levels from Dawood Public School. She graduated in 2005. Her subjects were Accounts, Economics and Business Studies.  She then went on to do her A levels from Karachi Grammar School with a focus in Economics, Accounting and Mathematics. She graduated from LUMS in 2011 with Bachelors (Hons) in Economics. After graduation, she worked at Teach For Pakistan for 1.5 year as the HR and Administration Officer. She then also worked for a few months with the Association for the Development of Pakistan. Misbah is currently working at Habib University as Assistant Manager in the Academic Operations Department where she looks after all programmatic hiring and supports in other functions of the Academic Operations Department.
Misbah is an avid reader and writer. She is thinking about starting a blog soon.  She hopes to start her own human resource consultancy firm someday.

Huma left Dawood Public School in 2003 after securing 1st position from class 1-8 consistently and moved to Dubai where she did her O Levels. She joined the American University of Sharjah and majored in Accounts and Finance in her Bachelors in 2009 and then completed her MBA in 2011. Huma started working in the American University as a lab instructor teaching Principles of Marketing for 2.5 years but had to quit teaching a few months ago as she was shifting to Canada.
Huma wishes to do her PhD in Consumer Behaviour and Satisfaction. She would like to be associated with the field of academics in the future as well.

Momal has completed Ordinary Levels in 2012 after successfully completing her 14 years at DPS. She has taken part in numerous school events, and has also represented DPS at other Inter-school events, such as debates, declamations, Art competitions and Math Competitions. While at school, she hosted and compared in numerous school events, like the Sport’s Day, Farewell, Independence Day, Seminars etc. She was also the Head Prefect in Grade 9 and 10, and the Head Girl and the Editor-in-chief of the school magazine in Grade 11. She is the Brand Ambassador of WWF, and has done internships in Aga Khan University, WWF and the Children’s Cancer Hospital. She ran a fund raising campaign in 2012 and collected 0.5 million Rupees for the Hisaar Foundation.
Momal joined The Lyceum for her Advanced Levels, and took Mathematics, General Studies, Biology and Chemistry as her subjects. She was the Class Representative, and the member of the Science Club, the Religion’s for Peace Society, the Neelum project (which educates underprivileged children), and the Literature Society.
She has taken the SAT and the SAT Subject Tests, and is currently teaching History at DPS before pursuing her university for higher education abroad. She is a member of the Charter for Compassion Organisation, and is taking an active part in instilling care, compassion and mindfulness in young minds by conducting weekly classes on Compassion.
Momal feels that whoever she is today, it’s because of the grooming she got at DPS. She will always be very grateful to the school to have provided her with the platform to explore and expand her potentials. In her spare time, Momal enjoys good talks, reading and spending time in nature.

Afreen did her O levels from Dawood Public School in 2005. Her subjects were Business Studies, Economics and Accounts. She did her A levels from Foundation Public School in 2007. Currently she is almost done with her ACCA with only one paper left. Afreen has worked in Ernst and Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder for three years and is now working as Accounts Executive in Dupont.
Afreen has keen sense of fashion and plans to launch her own prêt line someday. She also aspires to be a CFO in a progressive organization

Ariba did her O levels from Dawood Public School in the year 2009. Her subjects were Business Studies, Accounts and Economics. She describes her experience of being a dawoodian as a successful journey of 13 years with memorable events like sports day, annual farewell, field trips and workshops with the most loving and supportive teachers. Ariba went on to do her A levels privately in 2009 and then did her Bachelors in Commerce from Government College of Commerce in 2013. Currently she is doing her MBA from Iobm.
Ariba has been teaching primary classes since November 2011 in Dawood Public School. Her interests include reading magazines and novels, researching and gathering data, cooking, net surfing, playing cricket and throwball. She aspires to be a successful personnel and a good human being.

Safia was part of DPS for around 12 years and graduated in 2003. Her subjects were Accounts, Business Studies and Economics. After scoring 7 A’s and 2 B’s in her O levels, she went on to do her A levels from Foundation Public School where apart from her studies she learned integral interpersonal communication skills. Safia got straight A’s in her A levels. She did ACCA, B.Com and her M.A in Economics while teaching O level commerce subjects in DPS.
Currently she is working as an O level Commerce Coordinator and as an AS level accounting teacher in Dawood Public School. She feels that being a Dawoodian as a student and as a teacher has been a great experience for her. The love, respect, education and morals that she got from DPS have contributed to whatever and wherever she is today. She hopes to continue her study to enhance her knowledge and career prospects in the future.

Iqra graduated from DPS in 2004. Her subjects during her O levels were Accounts, Economics, Computer studies and Add maths. She did her A level s from Lyceum School. Her subjects during her A levels were Accounts, Economics, Maths and Business Studies. Iqra then went on to do Chartered Accountancy and is currently working as a Tax Advisory Consultant at one of the top ranked Chartered Accountants Firm in Pakistan, A.F Ferguson and Co. 
Iqra has always been passionate about cooking and this passion made her one of the top ten contestants on Masterchef Pakistan Season 1. She continues to make guest appearances as a cooking expert on MASALA TV.Iqra hopes to travel the world and train as a professional chef and wants to open her own restaurant. She wants to create awareness and inspire other young girls to pursue cooking as a career.

  Amna Shah

Amna Shah was enrolled in 1986 and completed her O-Levels at DPS. She migrated to USA in 2000 at a young age of 16 after completing her O-Levels from Dawood Public School. She then went ahead and acquired her Associates Degree in International Business. She got her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 2005 where she graduated summa cum laude. Shah acquired her Master’s Degree in Accounting and Financial Management in 2010. She spent years working at World Commerce Forwarding and other major companies. Shah also served as the youngest CFO at SBS Worldwide from 2011-2013. She has recently launched i-card and is serving as a Senior Consultant at AHS Consulting Inc..
